FAQs
What type of company is the right fit?
Most companies begin looking for executive marketing leadership once they reach roughly five million in annual revenue, when the founder-led sales-driven approach starts reaching its limits. Marketing becomes more complex, teams begin to grow, agencies enter the picture, and someone needs to own the entire function.
Why start with a Half-Day Strategy Session?
Because neither of us should commit to a longer engagement before we understand the business. The Half-Day Strategy Session gives you an objective assessment of your marketing, identifies the biggest constraints to growth, and helps determine whether a longer engagement makes sense. Even if we don't continue working together, you'll leave with greater clarity and prioritized next steps.
Do you work with agencies and vendors?
Absolutely. In many cases, one of my first priorities is helping agencies, freelancers, and internal teams work together around a unified strategy. My role isn't to replace your marketing department. It's to ensure everyone is aligned, accountable, and moving in the same direction. In fact, most agencies perform better when someone inside the business is responsible for setting direction, making decisions, and holding everyone accountable.
What if my marketing team is worried about outside leadership?
That's understandable. I'm not brought in to replace good people. I'm brought in to provide leadership, remove obstacles, and help the team succeed. Most teams become advocates once they experience greater clarity, better decision-making, and consistent support.
How do you fit into our leadership team?
I become part of your existing leadership rhythm, whether that's EOS or another operating system. I participate in leadership meetings, align marketing with company priorities, and bring the same level of accountability, visibility, and decision-making to marketing that already exists across the rest of the business.
How long do engagements typically last?
Most engagements last six to eighteen months. The goal isn't to create long-term dependence. It's to build a marketing function that can eventually thrive with less day-to-day involvement from me.
How many companies do you work with?
I intentionally limit my practice to four active clients at a time. Executive leadership requires focus. This allows me to be fully engaged with every company I work with.
